VOICE at Amsterdam Cocoa Week 2026
VOICE was actively present at Amsterdam Cocoa Week (February 16–22), hosting and co-hosting several events that brought together farmers, companies, cooperatives, governments, and civil society around the sector’s most pressing challenges.
The week kicked off with a farmer consultation dinner on February 16, bringing together producers from West Africa and Latin America alongside VOICE members for an intimate, solution-focused dialogue — described internally as one of the best meetings in recent memory.
On February 20, VOICE co-hosted the New Frontiers Breakfast alongside IDEF and INKOTA, focusing on cocoa-related deforestation in frontier regions, particularly Liberia and its border zones with Côte d’Ivoire. Key themes included migration-driven deforestation, regulatory gaps, private sector traceability responsibilities, and tree ownership rights for farmers.
VOICE and IDH also co-hosted a Living Income Dinner, gathering around 25 representatives to reflect candidly on what each actor can do differently to advance living income. The conversation surfaced a strong appetite for data-driven dialogue and alternative pricing systems, with a follow-up convening planned for June 29 ahead of the IDH Living Wage Living Income Summit.
