Briefing note on Uganda’s actions towards achieving EUDR compliance through traceability
This briefing note presents a brief summary of the ongoing actions and current preparedness of the coffee industry for supplying compliant coffee under the European Union Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR), coming into force on 30 December 2025 and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), coming into force in 2028 It is drafted at the request of the Royal Danish Embassy, which makes through its agricultural business funding vehicle, aBi-Development, a substantial contribution towards a number of critical compliance actions, as described below. This note aims to inform other potential financiers about the ongoing compliance efforts, show opportunities for investments, and plead for coordinated or pooled funding in support of this endeavor.
